S-R-A Grant Awarded to ADP Graduate Student Sara Douglass

The Innovative Small Grants Program is sponsored by the Society for Research on Adolescence Study Groups Committee, and supports research on adolescence that is innovative in terms of the subject being explored or the methods being employed. A grant was awarded to Sara Douglass, a graduate student in the Applied Developmental Psychology Program, for her proposed research on racial/ethnic teasing behaviors in adolescence, which she is currently exploring in her dissertation. This research focuses on integrating contributions from discrimination and teasing research to explore daily interactions of racial/ethnic teasing as dynamic contexts within a larger developmental perspective. In addition, it uses a daily diary method to explore how the capacity and perspective of the individual in these daily interactions may affect their experiences.

Research Colloquium, January 25th

Research Colloquia began its Spring series on Wednesday, January 25th with speaker Ann-Gel Palermo, MPH from the Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She presented on "The Harlem Community and Academic Partnership: CBPR in action in the past, present and future."
