Healthy Cities in the 21st Century Event


On Feb 8, Fordham hosted a lively interdisciplinary 75-minute forum on “Healthy cities in the 21st Century.” About 35 students and professionals heard a series of 8 experts--3 environmental psychologists and 5 discussants—briefly address specific urban themes:
  • Dr. Peter Walker on the work of UN Habitat
  • Dr. Arline Bronzaft on noise reduction in cities
  • Dr. Harold Takooshian on the changing image of cities
  • Rick Sanford on the future of urban transportation
  • Dr. Bruce Berg on post-industrial cities like New York
  • Moses Williams on spiritual life in cities
  • Sarah Benoit on urban studies at Fordham
  • Noema Chaplin on student involvement in UN activities
