The Department introduces the Great Speakers in Science lecture series

The Psychology Department is excited to introduce Great Speakers in Science lecture series. Great Speakers in Science is a new initative to bring renowned professionals in the field of psychology involved in cutting edge research and boasting impressive backgrounds to speak at Fordham University.

The inaugural Great Speakers in Science lecture is proud to present Kathy Haaland, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology and Vice Chair for Research at New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care Systems.

Dr. Haaland is a true leader in the field of clinical neuropsychology. She has authored over 100 publications, is Editor of the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, and has been continuously funded for the last 25 years. Since 2004, she has been the recipient of a 1.4 million dollar award (the VA Research Career Scientist), which allows her to devote 50% of her time to research collaborations. Recently, she has become interested in the cognitive correlates of Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and mild traumatic brain injury, which is funded through a grant from the Department of Defense. She will discuss her recent work in neurocognitive functioning in PTSD.
